Currently, I am drawing and printmaking. In the past I have worked 3-dimensionally with clay, steel and mixed materiels.
The act of drawing, of putting marks onto paper or any surface is always a journey. Drawing can sometimes be a struggle, and at other times a joyful flow. If I trust the drawing process it can take me, creatively, somewhere that I didn’t expect.
I am drawn to the mechanical element of printmaking. I appreciate the beautifully made vicorian presses and find that being immersd in a technical process is very satisfying if not frustrating at times.
I enjoy working creatively with both children and adults. This is as important to me as my solitary work.
I have completed an MA in Community Arts, a BA in Sculpture and a Diploma in Art and Play in Therapeutic Work With Children.
In July 2020 I qualified as a Paws b facilitator. This enables me to teach mindfulness in schools for 7-11 yr olds with the organisation, MISP (Mindfulness in Schools Project).
30th August 2020 Teaching monoprinting. Book now through Hawkwood College
May 2021 Two week residency at Cill Rillaig Arts Centre on the West Coast of Ireland.
