Course Description
I will cover the basic foundations of monoprinting. Students will initially learn how to create different tones and marks and then learn how to layer colour. This will be without the use of a printing press so it can be easily done at home.
I will show the work of other artists who use monoprinting so we can examine and learn from them. I have a fun and playful approach to teaching and encourage experimentation. Nature and landscapes will be a source of inspiration and from this starting point, I will encourage each student to create images that express their unique vision.
This course is suitable for both beginners and those with more experience. I have plenty of practice teaching students of differing abilities. Students will be given detailed course notes.
Material List
Please bring an apron or wear suitable clothing. Bring a sketchpad for taking notes and any simple images or visual ideas for inspiration but this is not necessary.
Paper will be provided. Caligo Safewash Inks will be used which are solvent free and which uses warm water and washing up liquid to clean.
