This one-day workshop explores the playful method of monoprinting. This is suitable for beginners and more experienced artists.
Venue: Cass Art Shop, 43-45 Park Street, Bristol, BS1 5NL
Date: Saturday 8 January 2022
Time: 11am - 4:30pm with an hour lunch break
Cost: £65
NB Booking is essential as numbers are limited to five. Email me at art@catherinegraymills.co.uk to book your space.
Bring messy clothes, a thermos of tea or any drinks you would like in the breaks. There are many local cafes for lunch.
The workshop will be downstairs, so is not suitable for anyone with disabilities.
I will show how to develop a familiarity with drawing onto the plates with mark making using different tools such as brushes, cotton buds, rollers and cloths. In this way we can build up abstract imagery and become confident with this painterly and fun process.
This can lead to making more recognisable imagery such as a landscape, either real or imagined, or any simple image that students are inspired to draw.
We will be using water-based inks, rollers and Japanese paper.
By the end of the day, students will be more confident to make their own prints at home and explore this wonderful process.
All materials will be supplied.
If you can’t come along on 8 January, there will be another monoprinting workshop on Saturday 12 February.
